Returning to WoW...

I have more free time these days, and I've decided that I want to start playing WoW again. I added an authenticator to my account, and will be downloading Cataclysm as well. The installation process may take a fair bit of today because, well, I don't have any of the game installed currently, so it will probably be patch & repatch city, but who ( Read more... )

I quit WoW Spring 2008 and started playing EQII then, which I stopped playing summer '09, then picked up again early 2010 to summer 2010. I been back to EQII a few times using 3-day passes, which was fun. Though I've also been back to WoW for a couple of weeks just after WotLK came out and again for a couple of weeks once Cataclysm came out, somehow the game just didn't grasp me no more like it used to. I guess all the drama that happened in the past didn't help either, it was nice to see some of the old folks back but it also kept reminding me of how it used to be and now no longer was nor was going to be anymore. If that makes sense? And, I felt that WoW required/asked for a much larger time investment then EQII did, so with the little time I had to spare, I ended up spending that in EQII rather then WoW ( ... )

All my characters are having to be respec'd. I did find a new Guild, which is cool, but I'm still downloading the client (they allow you to play before fully patched now). I've been on all day... I even forgot to eat lunch. So now, I'm taking a break to make some dinner and then I'll head back into the game.

Right now, I'm trying to get my characters on Windrunner straightened out. I have a new Guild, which is in the process of rebuilding itself due to the GM being offline for a while.

But I do want to try some new peeps to play with that are more 'chronologically compatible' with me... I play from like 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. ET during the week, and then off/on all weekend. My old Guild never really got rolling until 9 p.m. ET, far too late for me.

I play alliance on Fenris and horde on Kael'thas. Do yourself a favor and stay off of Kael'thas, it has rightfully earned a nickname of "fail'thas" :)

Cataclysm has been... less than spectacular for me. I enjoyed Wrath more.
