great job on the strengh training! that is so important, and it's something i have the hardest time with. i met w/ a trainer twice in april to get a full body routine, yet i never once went to the gym to do it :(. i don't know why i don't go to the gym, i just like walking and biking around my neihborhood so much more. the gym is just like a 5 minute drive, but it often seems so freakin far away. i also feel that i'd be embarrassed if i saw any of my students while working out (it's the gym on my campus), but i know I need to get over that. anyway, great job and keep up the excellent work! *hugs*
I'm proud of you for getting through your first strength training session! I need to start that as well...That's so great that it wasn't that bad for ya!
Congrats on starting strength training. The more I do strength training, the more I like it! I have found it really seems to make a difference in lots of every day activities. One thing is that if something really hurts somewhere, you might want to try and find an alternate way to work the muscle without hurting yourself. With the modified pushups, you might want to try them standing. My trainer has me doing them on a ball (holding the ball up against the wall and pushing against that). Here is a great site for strength training stuff: http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/index.php.
A-ha, strength training is what it's called. *writes down* Thank you! I also like it more than cardio, the results are more clear (you can count how many repeats you've done, with cardio it's more of how you're feeling, and that's harder to measure) and it doesn't get you out of breath as badly.
Being there for your friends is important, I hope they're ready to help you when you need it. Though if you call them friends, they probably are. Good luck with WATP.
