WHO: Sha Gojyo/Neroli Vescovo and Rabi Bookman/Rabi Vescovo WHAT: Long overdue Brotherly Meet-up/Revisiting old Ono!canon WHERE: Phonecall first then dinner somewhere WHEN: Day 178
Rabi's deep concentration was broken when he heard the soft sound of his cell phone vibrating inside his pocket. Setting aside his work, Rabi reached into his coat and pulled out the small device, staring at the number with a little bit of confusion. It was an unrecognized caller and Rabi had half the mind not to answer it. But a part of him thought it could be something important (doubtful), or maybe Ulquiorra calling him (even more doubtful) after everything that had happened.
Deciding that he shouldn't just sit there like an idiot, staring at it, Rabi flipped open the phone and brought it to his ear. "Hello?"
"Uh hi," Gojyo began hesitantly. "I'm sorry but I found this number amidst my old roommate's stuff, so I'm not even really sure who it is that I'm speaking to... I'm trying to track down some friends, actually."
He was hesitant to use names just yet because he kept reminding himself that the mafia ran this city and who knew the kinds of people Surefire might have been contacting right before all of that Axel stuff went down?
Sighing once, he decided to go for the more formal approach after all. "Sorry, may I ask to whom I speaking?"
Rabi listened as the voice on the other end rambled his story. There was something strangely nostalgic about it, although the redhead couldn't put his finger on exactly what it was.
When asked for his name, Rabi frowned, clenching the phone tightly in his fist as the heel of his palm rubbed against his eye patch. The empty socket behind the black patch ached with agonizing clarity. If there was one thing Tyki had taught him, it was the importance of not letting your enemy get information about you. For all Rabi knew, this was some sort of trap set up by AMC or even worse the other family.
Worse yet, it could be Tyki and Rabi paled at the thought. Deep down, he feared Tyki and the thought of him returning was not accompanied with good outcomes.
"Isn't it common courtesy to introduce yourself before asking such questions?" Rabi asked, keeping his tone level and controlled.
Gojyo was also getting a deja-vu feeling. That voice... a similar quality, if not pitch. Maybe he'd worked with the guy a long time ago...
"Ah sorry, you can call me Shagojyo. I was out of town for a few weeks and now I'm back and trying to track down some friends that had been staying at my place while I was away, but now it looks like they've disappeared again.
Nothing illegal man, honest, they're just friends. They don't owe me or anything. I'm just really freaking worried about them..."
Oh this is getting awkward... shit I hope he doesn't hang up.
