Instead, he'd taken the bus here and there was nothing on his head other than hair. Most people wouldn't notice the slightly different way that his shirt hung on his chest, but anyone trained would probably guess that he had body armor on. The odds of something bad happening here and now were slim, but Kia felt that a bit of paranoia was justified, under the circumstances.
He talked to the restaurant's owner for a moment, since he came here often and had grown close to them, and managed to get an isolated table. As he waited, he ordered some fries and a milkshake.
