the pixies just did a 4 night stand at the aragon ballroom here in chicago...i'm sort of regretting not getting a ticket jus because they were one of the bands that spurred my decade plus long love affair/unfortunate obsession with independent rock bands and i was too young ever to have seen them before they broke up...but...they are old now...and Black Francis was a much cooler name than Frank Black...they had some killer opening acts, though...i have a hard time at rock shows these days anyway...

and i'm sorry, man...sonic youth...i love 'em...especially the early stuff...
