Yeah I didn't like their old stuff but this album uses all guitars so it sounds like the Strokes. It's good times.

I reckon Get Lonely is the best record that John Darnielle has ever made in a real studio, by a long shot. All the clean-voiced Thermals stuff kinda annoys me though, same with Iron and Wine. Just personal preference I guess.

Yeah, sometimes I like clean voiced stuff, sometimes not. I should really keep listening to G.L. because I know I'll like. I don't see how I can't.
I think I have a stupid, sort of youthful tolerance for The Thermals. I get a lot of enjoyment from their "Pop-Punk".

David from Novi Split has told me repeatedly that he thinks the first Thermals record is a masterpiece. Wouldn't go that far, but they've yet to make anything else that I like anywhere near as much...

Yeah i should get that. I got Fuckin A when it came out and thought it as amazing. Then realised i was just being childish. Now i've changed again and it makes me smile. I like Hutch's voice.
