I started my DJ career because I was an ineffective bass player (couldn't stay in a band).

5 years of being a marginally effective DJ, and suddenly I'm a bassist again. The difference? People suddenly want to hear my bass style. A lot has changed in 5 years, apparently.

Eh cool man... let me fix your bass for you. I'll come over with my soldering iron, cause the way I rigged it up the other day was with a piece of tape holding the wire on. Or maybe I just wrapped it around the post... heh.. either way it'll give out on you one day at the worst time possible.
