Five questions with Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly of Syfy's 'Warehouse 13'

Now that Eddie McClintock, one of the stars of Syfy's Warehouse 13, has experienced what it's like to have a hit TV show, he doesn't want the feeling to go away. "How about a 15-year run?" he asks. "I think there are enough story possibilities to keep us going that long." McClintock stars as Secret Service Agent Pete Lattimer alongside Joanne Kelly as Agent Myka Bering. It's their job to chase down cursed, haunted and bad-juju artifacts and to keep them locked away in a top-secret facility in South Dakota. Season 2 of Warehouse 13, the highest-rated series in Syfy history, begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

1 If there were a real Warehouse 13, would you be concerned about those dangerous objects getting out and wreaking havoc?

Kelly: I think so. We can't even contain an oil spill.

McClintock: I wasn't worried until you put it in that light. But opening the doors to Warehouse 13 would be like opening Pandora's box, which happens to be stored in the warehouse, by the way.

2 If you could possess any artifact from the warehouse, which one would you want?

McClintock: Janis Joplin's backstage pass from Woodstock.

Kelly: We've done an episode with Edgar Allan Poe's pen. But I would like to get my hands on Shakespeare's pen.

3 Why those two objects?

McClintock: The holder of Janice Joplin's backstage pass would be able to travel through time to any concert that has ever been. So I could get to go see all the great bands my dad turned me onto when I was a kid: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival. That would do it for me.

Kelly: I'm a literature fanatic, and Shakespeare is my favorite. My mom was a schoolteacher and I grew up surrounded by these wonderful, wonderful books. We didn't have cable for a number of years. So I read and imagined. If I could get Shakespeare's pen, I could go back and meet him.

4 How gratifying is it that the show has become the network's biggest series ever?

Kelly: You create these things in a bubble. You have no idea if people will be welcoming or if they'll enjoy it. So it's an incredibly validating feeling to have people respond the way they did.

McClintock: This was my 10th pilot. People kept telling me not to give up. Not that I ever entertained the notion of quitting, because I don't know what else I would do. But it's great to finally get one that made it. I can't believe how lucky I am.

5 What do you think of your co-star as an actor and as a person?

Kelly: Eddie's a good Midwestern boy. He's extremely polite. He makes me laugh every day. He never complains. Actors often get a little whiny about very insignificant things. Eddie is someone who's thankful for everything that has come into his life and I deeply respect that.

McClintock: We have a great, easy relationship. She walks by me in the morning and punches me in the shoulder. That's the relationship we have. She's like my sister. My really, really, super-hot sister.
