I'll just leave this here: a standardized high school textbook for Islamic studies (that every Muslim student in our country's public schools has to use). Someone else translated it from Malay to English.

I'm sorry, I don't have any words for this, except why are they writing so many things they can't even cite evidence for, oh, right, because it goes against Islamic teachings, so if they cited any reliable ahadeeth for many of these claims, they'd prove themselves wrong!
That's horrifying and I am so sorry it's taught in schools (not that my country's that much better in that regard... think of the strictest rulings imaginable and most hardline interpretations possible, then multiply that by a hundred, and then present it as the only way to understand Islam, firm refusal to accept any other view points for decades and you've got our system for the most part.)

I think justification of any violence leads to more violence, especially of a vulnerable group :(
