LOS ANGELES (March 10) - "The L Word" is set to take its final bow.

Showtime has renewed the lesbian drama for a sixth and final season, which will make it one of the premium network's longest-running series. Eight episodes have been ordered, targeted to go into production in early summer for an early 2009 premiere.

I'm trying to figure out how they're going to wrap things up properly in just eight episodes and not create loose ends or make things seem totally unbelievable. I mean given that we're on season 5 now and some of the characters have barely seemed to progress since day one, I dunno how it'll be done.

That's kind of like real life imo. In a group of friends, most everyone grows and changes and develops as life goes on, and then there's always the kid or two that still lives at home, thinks booger jokes are funny, and collects happy meal action figures, amirite?
