Pens Vs Flyers...what you didn't see
Myself, rainbow_sin and jannamaxwell (yup, they're all members of the community, too, and we happen to be close friends IRL. They live 8 minutes away from me.) went to the Pens vs Flyers game tonight.
Just some quick things that happened tonight to prove how CLASSY Flyer fans AND the players are!!!
We moved down to the glass seats for warm ups to get some pictures. I didn't see exactly what happened, but Flower hit Cookie and his helmet fell off. They were both joking around and laughing though, so it was okay. And Brooksie and Cookie kept hurling pucks at the glass right in front of us and it scared the shit out of me. Billy G kept looking up at the JumboTron looking confused...
The booing for the Flyers and their fans was the loudest I've ever heard for any other team...maybe even the Red Wings. No, tied with the Red Wings.
There were Flyer fans in the lower part of my section. They had some kind of sign that they had made out of a sheet or something, and kept trying to drape it off the end, but the usher yelled at them. Several times. They were being DICKS about it. (Not the ushers, the Flyer fans.) They were being dicks to everyone around them. This guy from another section saw them and yelled "NICE WINTER CLASSIC, ASSHOLES!!!" and everyone around us laughed and applauded.
At one point, after a Flyers goal, they tried to hang the sign down again, and a Pens fan next to them grabbed the sign somehow and threw it in to the crowd below...much applause erupted.
During the end of the 2nd Period, I moved over to where Kat and Jackie were sitting because whoever was sitting next to them never showed up and apparently I looked like I was having a horrible time. The people around me weren't standing up for goals and I tried to give the kid next to me a high five and he was just like ;[ okay I was so worried I'd get in trouble but we were all in the F seats so it wasn't like I was moving down ~right to the glass~
And...this is the best part. If you didn't read any of the above, fucking read THIS.
We were standing outside after the game, and the Flyers were getting on the bus. This girl got yelled at for making a snowball to throw at Hartnell. This kid was booing at Carcillo as he was getting on the bus. (This happens ALWAYS. Players usually ignore it. I'd say "always" but that was broken tonight.) Carcillo stopped, turned around to face the kid, and yelled "fucking faggot" and got on the bus.
CLEARLY DANIEL CARCILLO IS A PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY PLAYER AND IS THE DEFINITION OF CLASS!!!
Just remember that next time says anything different.
