I'm still not liking the "beat up by clowns" thing, especially if they think it's supposed to be funny when Sam is tramatized, but I guess the episode as a whole could be good?

they beat the bad guy and dean's like haha that was funny spn-style.

sam's trying to be like haha right?

and then next episode (when craziness starts in full, right?) it becomes very obviously that it was really not funny and that it was a last straw kind of situation.
