#14 - I am REALLY sick of hearing this shit since, probably, middle-school..."I liked so-and-so BEFORE they were popular. Now somehow other people liking them makes me HATE them" If that's how you feel, FINE, then GTFO cause you're ruining the fun for everyone else...don't hang around just to bitch.
There are those of us long-time fans that give newbies a chance and try to extend the love, pride, and knowledge we have for our team instead of making people feel like they'll never be a TRUE fan if they weren't "in-the-know" before whatever date. I understand the annoyance w/ fangirls who only care about how the men look and not the sport, but it's not like a couple bitter fans are going to change that, and we only hurt OURSELVES by giving up our love of the team...all we can do is hope that, in time, they come to appreciate the men as players, and the Beautiful Sport itself.
And iawtc. I was once a new fan of Man Itd myself (although that was so long ago that I don't remember a time when I didn't love the club), and since I live in the US, I only knew other Man Utd fans through the internet for the longest time. They were the kindest, most welcoming group of fans. I've tried to return the favour UNLESS NEW FANS INSIST ON CALLING THEM MAN U :|
Sometimes it's not the fact that they like ___ team or club, it's that they're really rude about others. You can like a team and not be a complete asshole about others. It's not right and I don't condone it but it becomes hard to separate fans from a team in situations like that.
