Fourth Parasol [Video]

It has become quite clear that whoever is responsible for the appearance of these odd dolls has absolutely no appreciation for history.  This thing [And here Amelia points the camera at the doll standing on her dresser.] stinks of all the worst invention European romanticism has inflicted upon the history and culture  of ancient Egypt.

[ Raises a brow at that doll. His own is standing atop his cowl as he patrols... it's not really by choice, either, it won't really leave him alone. ]

What if she's a doll wearing a wig?

I checked. The doll's wig is sewn to the scalp.

You could always pretend it's a wig.

I see no purpose in doing such a ridiculous thing. Additionally, the inaccuracy of the wig is only the beginning of the problems with this doll. It was obviously created to pander to the expectations of the ignorant public. The same people, I expect, who flock to buy the latest newspaper installments extolling the mummies curses and other sensationalist foolery.

Your bubbly-hubby. Father of Curses. Is he curse-master?

Certainly not. He has been nicknamed Father of curses for his temper and extensive vocabulary.

Your doll should be bald?

In the time of ancient Egypt it was common practice to shave the head for purposes of cleanliness.

Back home doll makers often didn't really care about historical accuracy, so I doubt they do in this place as well.

Few people do, I've found.

With these people it's at least a little more understandable, considering they're mostly thinking of profit rather than teaching kids something about history.

I fancy that such people aren't suited to teach anything.
