[Amelia frowns severely into the camera as she leans lightly on her parasol. ]

I have located an apartment in this town of Discedo.  If one can apply that term to such a place.

Good Gad!  I have lived in tombs that were more suited for human habitation than this!

I have no intention of allowing this state of affairs to continue.  If someone can ( Read more... )

Carbolic?

Any soap would do, but carbolic soap would be best.

I think you can find something like that, I know there's lye.

But a lot of the soap comes pre-made.

Any cleaning supplies are better than none.

Sewing I can do, though they're might be places where you can obtain clothes in Discedo, ready-made.

Also, I wouldn't go to France. He'll most probably create something inappropiate for a lady such as you.

[It's quite embarassing nowadays for a man to be such an adept tailor without being full blown gay, so he's rather shy about admitting he can around here.]

Ready-made clothing? What a strange concept.

I am quite capable of dealing with impertinent men, thank you.

[He chuckles, and of course, when he speaks it's a very educated British accent.]

Hmm, I thought so too when they first came along. My dear, may I ask you what year you are from?

[You can tell there's a sort of smile behind his voice.]

Oh no, I'm sure you can. I just thought it mannerable to give you heed of warning.

[Amelia answers in a crisp British accent. I assume. It's tough to tell with these book canons]

It is the year of our Lord 1901.

Haha! You primes, you always want to seem to tidy up something that is practically uncleanable.

There is very little that is uncleanable. It is merely a question of applying the proper effort.

Ah, but what point is the effort if it's just going to get dirty all over again? Monsters and some such are likely to simply tear apart any such efforts simply because they can.

If the monsters are invading our homes to that degree I think we will have rather more to worry about. Besides, dirty homes breed disease.

AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, THERE ARE NO RESIDENTIAL PLACES IN ANY CITY IN THIS UNIVERSE SUITED FOR ANY SORT OF LIFE
HUMAN OR OTHERWISE.

I intend to see about that.

It is quite clear that no one has competently taken charge of the building issue. At the least I intend to ensure that the apartments in this city are clean.

I supply the water in Spero... the last time I was in Discedo, though, I left some containers of water in the Horton lobby area.

I'm starting in Marshall, but I shall certainly investigate to see what is left there.

I hope you find it. Even if you do, you can start to collect and boil rainwater.

...If there was an easier way to travel between cities, I'd supply the water for all three of them. Hopefully that will happen soon.

Rainwater sounds like an excellent idea. It was not often an option in Egypt.

I would hope so. This confusion of three locations makes organizing anything entirely too difficult.
