A/N: last chapter; the end came to me all of a sudden
The scene that played out before everyone could be best described as chaotic. Yoochun the demon was bound in chains; his body bleeding as his pregnant mate stood at his side. She was about to reveal her dark secret when the door burst open. There, before a stunned group of security guards were the two respected scientists, Jaejoong and Junsu. It was the very same Jaejoong and Junsu who had worked with them all these years, except now, they were angels. Like something out of a fairy tale, Junsu and Jaejoong stood before them, their long flowing golden hair cascaded passed their shoulders while magnificent white plumed wings jutted out of their backs.
The men shivered in their boots; guns shaking in their trembling hands. Changmin stood his ground, his weapon aimed at Jaejoong who held Yunho by the scruff of his neck. P.R.O.U.D.’S director was out cold.
“What the fuck is going on here?”
Jaejoong smiled wickedly at Changmin.
“Don’t worry. He’s not hurt. He just passed out when we revealed our true identities to him.”
Junsu looked over at Yoochun. The demon was bleeding heavily and Junsu feared for his life. His eyes met the female who growled at him.
The angel Jaejoong demanded that the guards drop their weapons. They hesitated and looked to Changmin for guidance. The security chief nodded and they dropped their guns. Junsu gathered them up and relieved Changmin of his keys.
“You better explain yourselves,” the security chief angrily spoke.
“All in due time, Min.”
Junsu ran to Yoochun’s side and released him from his bonds. The demon collapsed on the floor, unconsciousness overtaking him. With his new found strength, the angel Junsu scooped the demon into his arms and ran out the door, the little female in tow. Men flattened their backs against the wall in fear at the sight; Junsu was an angel! The scientist barged through the medical room doors startling the doctors. He placed Yoochun on a gurney and started shouting out demands. Despite their shock and confused state, the medical staff went to work; a nurse boldly pushing the angel and the female demon out of the operating theatre. Lilith and Junsu stared at each other. Junsu could feel her anger. It was jealousy, of course; that and an age old hatred that burned inside the girl. Like an intense fire, it could only be extinguished by Junsu’s death. He did not turn his back to her. Junsu did not trust the girl; after all, she was Satan’s daughter.
“You’re a fucking angel?”
Jaejoong nodded his head as he gently placed Yunho on the floor.
“Watch your mouth boss, Minho whispered. “You shouldn’t curse around angels, its bad luck.”
Changmin rolled his eyes.
“Don’t be an idiot, Minho.”
Jae smiled sweetly.
“Minho, go get some water for Yunho, ok?”
The security guard didn’t hesitate. He came back a few minutes later with some water and attempted to revive his boss. Yunho coughed and slowly came to. Remembering what had passed, he panicked.
“Its ok boss,” Minho reassured him. “You’re safe, I think.”
Yunho blinked and staggered to his feet. His fingers trembled as he straightened out his tie. Regaining his composure, he took a deep breath and addressed Jaejoong.
“Well,” the director said, “looks like we have a predicament.”
Jaejoong sighed.
“You have no idea.”
Junsu and Lilith were startled as Yunho pushed open the medical bay doors. Behind him were Changmin and Jaejoong. Minho was left behind at the lab to clean up the mess and try and calm down the rest of P.R.O.U.D.’S befuddled staff.
The doctors and nurses exited the operating theatre; the head surgeon whispering in Yunho’s ear. The director nodded his head.
“He’s out of danger. Let him sleep. I think this meeting should convene in my office.”
The little female ignored his words and ran into the room. They scurried after her, attempting to keep her from Yoochun’s side.
Changmin grabbed her but let her go as Yoochun began to stir upon the bed.
“My baby,” he mumbled over and over again.
The pregnant female took his hand and placed it on her swollen belly.
“Your baby is safe, my love.”
She leaned in to him and placed a gentle kiss upon his wide forehead.
Lilith faced her captors, a tear streaming down her cheek.
“This is not my first pregnancy,” she spoke slowly. “Our first baby died.”
Junsu held back his own tears.
“He blamed himself. Poor thing, it nearly drove him mad.”
Her lips trembled as she continued to tell her story.
“I love him so much. That’s why I risked everything to follow him here. Somehow he sensed Junsu’s presence. Your awakening from your long sleep must have triggered it. It was only a matter of time before a rift between our worlds brought him to you.”
Jaejoong explained to Yunho how many rifts to earth could open, but only the right one would have lead Yoochun to Junsu’s exact location.
“He must have tasted your blood forming a one way bond. Angels don’t drink demon blood; otherwise you would have fallen into shadow and become one of us.”
Junsu rubbed his neck. He remembered his dream. Swallowing hard, he looked over at Jae who nodded, confirming Lilith’s words.
Yunho interrupted the girl.
“This is all very fascinating, but I insist we take this discussion elsewhere.”
The devil’s daughter shook her head.
“No. I will speak my mind here and now and you will listen.”
Yunho looked over at Jae who shrugged his shoulders.
“Very well, carry on.”
The female pointed a clawed finger at Junsu.
“It is because of you that we find ourselves here. I love Yoochun, but he loves you. I thought I could win his love, but all he could do was think of you.”
Junsu shuffled his feet nervously. Everyone in the room was decidedly uncomfortable.
“I had only one resort. I forced the blood bond upon him. It was against his will. This is why we were punished. This is why our child was taken from us. My lust and his blasphemy cursed us.”
Yoochun moaned once more, calling out for his deceased infant. Junsu bit his lip; tears now escaping his eyes.
“Such is the power of the angels. So strong, that it robbed Yoochun of his senses. He lost his purpose and his heart to his enemy; an enemy who was to perish by Satan’s order.”
Junsu got up the courage to speak.
“Yoochun was sent to kill me?”
The female nodded her head.
“You were too curious and walked where angels dare not tread. You entered our lands without permission and showed no fear or remorse. You are a dangerous creature Junsu. My father was right to order your death. But you deceived him; turned out stronger than he expected. You seduced Yoochun, thus escaping your sentence. It’s been done before. I know this first hand. You see gentlemen, my mother was an angel.”
Jae’s wings began to vibrate. His normally peaceful face seemed to fill with anger.
“That’s enough, Lilith.”
The female bared her fangs at the angel.
“I will be heard.”
Changmin shook his head. He reached for his guns but forgot they had been taken away from him. A silent “fuck” escaped his lips.
“My mother’s beauty was so great that the devil himself could not resist her. He plucked her from the sky and ravaged her; filling her belly with his evil seed until it swelled.”
Yunho’s eyes grew wide as Lilith continued her explanation of her birth.
“My mother gave birth to me in Heaven, but as the days followed, my appearance changed. My golden hair began to fade to black; my skin, once fair and soft turned a dusky hue. Downy white feathers molted and were replaced with bat-like wings. The angels were not pleased, and on that very same craggy mountain where Yoochun and Junsu met, they tore me from my mother’s breast and left me to die.”
Yunho nodded his head. The girl had been traumatized. Her life began with a violent act. Innocent; she was abandoned; a babe only a few days old, exposed to the elements.
“You were found by the demons; that is obvious. As you grew and became aware of the circumstances of your birth, hatred of the angels grew as well.”
Lilith smiled at the director despite her pain.
“This is great, but it still doesn’t help,” Changmin stated. “What are we going to do now?”
“You will release us,” Lilith answered the security chief.
Yunho paced upon the floor.
“If we let you go, will that be sufficient?”
The demon Lilith shook her head.”
Changmin raised his arms in disgust.
“You will give us Junsu. He must return and pay for his crimes. He must die or all Hell will break loose. Give us the angel or perish.”
Jaejoong stepped in front of Junsu, his wings shielding his friend, lest the female were to attack.
Changmin was looking around the room for something he could use as a weapon. He didn’t trust the demon girl or the angels.
“Perhaps a less violent solution can be reached?”
The girl narrowed her eyes.
Jaejoong’s mind raced a mile a minute, then an idea came to him.
“Give me sometime,” he asked Lilith. “I think I can solve this dilemma.”
The girl reluctantly agreed and an uneasy truce was declared. Deciding that she was harmless in her condition, Yunho allowed her to stay by Yoochun’s side. The director went up to his office along with Changmin; the two humans making preparations for Armageddon in case Jaejoong’s plan fell through. The two angels walked arm and arm; Jaejoong sporting a satisfied grin.
“My life and the end of the world are around the corner and you are smiling?”
Jaejoong laughed.
“Don’t worry Junsu, I’ve got it covered.”
Junsu raised an eyebrow.
“You do?”
Junsu paused when he realized that they had reached the roof of the P.R.O.U.D. building.
What are you doing?” Junsu asked as his friend extended his wings.
“I’m going to call in a favor. Hang tight until I get back.”
Junsu shielded his eyes from the sun as his friend flew away.
“Show off.”
The mist clung to the craggy mountainside, and it was cold. The demon Yoochun and the angel Junsu stood face to face.
“Do you remember this place? It’s where we met and loved for the first time.”
The angel Junsu blushed.
Slender fingers stroked his cheek.
“You understand, of course, I can’t leave her indefinitely. The blood bond is eternal, it can never be broken.”
Junsu looked down at his feet and nodded his head.
“Will I see you again?”
Yoochun chuckled. His fingers lifted Junsu’s chin.
“Do you want to see me again?”
The angel smiled.
“Of course.”
Cherry red lips engulfed his in a fiery kiss. The angel moaned his lover’s name as the demon gently pressed his body upon the cold ground. Junsu shuddered as Yoochun showered him with gentle kisses; a fine sheen of sweat now apparent upon his skin. The demon’s tongue teased a nipple; it tickled, and he giggled; the response eliciting a frown.
“I love you,” the angel whispered in the dark; no longer afraid, he embraced the savage demon before him.
A deep, rumbling growl escaped Yoochun’s throat as he became one with the gentle angel; their love for each other greater than any blood bond. As the evening waned, they laughed and loved; pledging their undying faithfulness to each other. They parted, not in sadness, but in happiness. No matter where he was, if Yoochun would call, Junsu would answer. Such was their devotion; their love would stand the test of time.
Lilith stood before Satan; her father sitting upon his throne of skulls.
“I gather you are disturbed about the arrangements I have made, but I assure you that the end results will be more than satisfactory.”
From behind his throne, lurking in the shadows, a female figure clothed in a hooded garment appeared. Lilith staggered backwards as the woman disrobed; revealing long golden locks and an impressive pair of downy, white wings. The demon Lilith fell to her knees, a single tear trailing down her dusky cheek.
“Mother.”
