I am also happy that all the rape politicians were defeated. Men already control so much of a woman's body, to put something like "no abortions for rape victims" into law is just insane. Also glad you popped up on my Facebook to share your opinion as well. There was that one guy who just kept backing it, and I had to step away because I know him and I grew up with him, and I really didn't want to have to punch him in the face the next time I saw him. Because really, I'm so tired of men telling us what to do and then trying to make us feel guilty about thinking differently.

No prob., always happy to smack someone down, esp. a dude who has Opinions About What Ladyfolk Should Do. Dudes of the world, if women want your opinion, they'll ask for it. Otherwise shut up.

If you want a booster shot to your happiness right now, try reading this:

It's a bit dry, since Nate Silver prefers polite understatement to rhetoric, but the short version of it is that the GOP is doomed. Unless they do something radically different in the next four years, they can't win again.

Yes, I read that! The Republicans are doomed if they don't start pretending to be more inclusive. They've already started making overtures to Latinos. I think they will try to tone done the anti-women rhetoric, although they won't actually "give" anything of real substance to women.

I don't see them doing anything for LGBT rights, though, and I predict some will continue to try to profit from anti-LGBT hate, depending on their districts. I don't know if the GOP will keep anti-LGBT rhetoric in their platform.
