[[Theta is limping along down the street, being very, very careful of the ice and snow on the pavement. It's utterly awful being outside in this weather, but she's determined to get her daily walk in. She nods politely when she passes a young man, though she stops short when she sees his serious expression.]]

I don't believe I've seen you before...have you just arrived?

[He stops in his tracks, staring at her for a moment. British, but unfamiliar.]

Er, yeah, I have.

Come on, then, I'll make you some tea and explain a bit more about this place. It's not far to my home from here.

[[She moves to limp along, expecting him to follow.]]

[There's a boy walking a dog some way down the street, not smiling like mad. This is your first sign that he is probably more normal than the two girls playing with the dog.

He notices the other boy and turns his head just enough to watch him.]

[Aside from the identical houses and lawns, the huge, vacant grins of everyone on the streets are really giving him the heebie-jeebies. Cedric does his best not to meet anyone's eyes, but he feels someone looking at him. Another young man, a little younger than him, but he's not smiling. He isn't armed, though, or at least not going for his wand. Eying him narrowly, he slowly raises a hand in greeting.]

[Good thing he left his axe at home, eh?]

Er, no. I need to get out of here, but -

[He looks around.]

I can't find the town limits. Am I going the wrong way?
