Prerelease Plunders

So I did it, I tied for 2nd place (out of the whole pod, which was like 40ish people). I went 3-0-1 at the prelease.

Summary:

Match 1: Tied (vs Blue/Green/Red)
I won early first game with Veteran Armorer + Nightguard Patrol + enough removal to kill the few creatures he got down. Game 2 had a long drawn-out death, with him winning by five life. Game 3 was called on account of time, on its second turn. Oh well.

Match 2: Won (vs Red/Green/White)
Played Alex. Got a lot of creatures out, especially evasion (5 fliers, plus a kill spell which makes 2 more) ... he won the first game, but I won the second two (a nice stomp resulted from his mana-screwage game 3).

Match 3: Won (vs White/Black/Green)
This is when I discovered one of my money combos: Blind Hunter (2WB for a 2/2 flyer; you gain 2 life, opponent loses two when comes in to play, or when haunted target dies) + Mark of Eviction = 2WUB for "gain two life, opponent loses 2 life every turn." Outraced him with evasion and creature removal.

Match 4: Won (vs Blue/Black/Red/Green)
I outraced him games 1 and 3, finishing him off.

My apologies to "Seize the Soul" (2BB Instant; Destroy target nonwhite nonblack creature, put a 1/1 flying white creature token into play; Haunt). This card is a SERIOUS bomb in limited, since it reliably killed two huge Gruul creatures with its Haunt ability. Match 4, Game 3: Opponent has two huge creatures (I think RG 6/4 and G 4/4) and an Elves of Deep Shadow. Seize the Soul the 6/4, haunting the elves; Keening Banshee to kill the elves; haunting copy of Seize to kill the 4/4. Oh, and now I have a 2/2 flyer and two 1/1 flyers, as well. Best 8 mana I spent that game.
