When I first mentioned doing this series to a certain nerdy red head I know they asked how I’d do it. Partly for my amusement I mostly demurred, for the sake of this series, I decided I’d go part way towards answering. The partway is only because I don’t know the conditions both

Depending on tech level, select against autoimmune disorders. Take my artificial thyroid hormones away and I will soon become a sleeping lump.

Probably yes that would be an exclusionary criteria, but again, if you're for example a brilliant immunology doc, or a super talented cyberneticist and there's not enough other people who fill that need, you might get on board.

I wouldn't, if there's a history of the mutation. (I have a family history of it, and I'm concerned my kid may have the hyperthyroid version. This stuff's pernicious!)
