I returned a week ago from Napa. I saw relatives that I haven't seen in about seven years, as well as my parents. It was peaceful, and a much needed vacation.

I'm still around, despite my being quiet. I've still been working far too much.

It has been a good day.

It's been the sort of good day where I find myself humming Dr. Horrible while working on my current pet science project, and wondering how expensive or difficult it would be to patent this.

I've finished Hunting Pirate Heaven: in search of the lost pirate utopias of the Indian ocean. It was not what I'd hoped- far more travel story, and less history, than I'd been looking forward to. I also finished The Island of the Colorblind, by Oliver Sacks ( Read more... )

It is amazing how one hellish day at work can suddenly be negated by a few minutes of baby panda videos.
