I watched my brother captain his secondary's schools rugby match tonight (important not just because its his favourite sport now, but because he is getting really badly bullied at school. So badly that football, which used to be his favourite sport, and which he was very good at, has now been given up because he simply couldnt face being teased on

As a kid, being, a) from the south, but mostly brought up in the north, b) small, freckled, and slightly reddish haired, I suffered at the hands of bullies a fair bit throughout compulsory schooling. It has just crossed my mind that now I, a) sound like I'm from the north, b) am not short, have faded freckles and have lost the reddish tinge, and I'm also no longer bullied! I was bullied all the way through primary school - it happens to far too many children. It stopped when a) everybody grew up a bit and b) I moved to a school about 25 miles away from the one everyone else from my primary school went to :)

I recieved your card yesterday, which was a more than great way to start what turned out to be a very good day! Indeed, my mood has not been less than "happy" ever since :)

Yesterday night as I was going to sleep I was working out what I might put in a few emails/LJ comments, and the like, of course, I've now forgotten most of what I thought. Poo.
