CSUN Portfolio Review Review

What a DAY! I part of me was slightly nervous and excited about the portfolio review for now reason. I know I didn't have to prepare for anything - just sit next to Jim and throw in a few comments here and there.

We carpooled with Tornado Design since they were invited to review and they're on the floor beneath us. Random! Bunch of cool guys

That sounds awesome -- you're all teachery now. Congratulations. What were some things you said?

"Awkward and fatter-seeming" made me laugh.

I know! I never thought I could be somewhat teachery! It got really hard though towards the end when I was getting tired. I'd say things like "So...yeah...uh...good job!"

But before that I'd let the student walk me through their entire book w/out me saying anything. Then we'd go back and I'd give my critique on each piece and then make an overall critique on their presentation and make suggestions on how they can improve. I tried to stay positive. Point out their strongest piece and their weakest. Luckily 5 out of the 6 kids I saw still had either a semester or year left so they had a good start and can only get better. It was only frustrating that I could tell a couple of them weren't really letting things sink in. Bastards.

But yeah. Alan did seem fatter AND was even eating Cheetos during this reviews.
