I've been here over a week now, and so busy! I have been doing something every day. I know too many people in this small town. In a couple minutes, I'm going to call my 13-year-old friend, Asuka, and take her out for some okonomiyaki. I had a huge breakfast, though, so I don't know how much I'm going to be able to pack away.

I'm glad Japan is going well for you! I'm so happy you're learning interesting things and getting good experience. I am actually in the process of setting up my thesis work and my internship... yay! It will be so nice to finally apply what I have been learning.

By the way... what is okonomiyaki??? :P

Hey babe! Good luck on your thesis! Do you know what internship you'd like to do? Any leads? The thesis sounds like fun... :O I'm trying to search for good texts to do my case study. Blah.

Okonomiyaki is like a Japanese pancake that can have whatever you like (okonomi means favorites). You can get meat, cabbage, cheese, whatever packed in there. I usually get Hiroshima-yaki, which has meat, cabbage, and bean sprouts topped with egg.

This might sound blasphemous, but instead of buying kimono fabric directly, couldn't you use old kimonos that no one wants anymore.

I remember very fondly going to a flea market in Kyoto one afternoon and finding dozens of vendors with old kimonos for very very cheap. And the cheapest kimonos were the ones with stains on them. And if you only need scraps, then perhaps those would be an option for you by cutting out good parts for your dolls? They may sell well on the internet and you'd have some extra pocket cash.

OH YES! That is a wonderful idea. I have to first learn the field before I try to sell things like that, but I hope that I can sit down one day and do it. Too many things, too little time... (X_X)
