I cannot complain one ioda about life right now. Its just too awesome for words. Apparently, Ohio has a holiday on October 21st called "Sweetest Day." Its a Valentines Day for fall. *lol* The things card companies will come up with! Well, Jess told me about this, and we decided to go out to dinner. Yes, and I got a kitten during it. I named him Yuri.

"Sweetest Day" is a Midwest thing, we have it in Illinois too. It's huge, with flower sales and candy and all of it.

My office is having a party, I'm pondering what, if anything, I can dress up as.

Sounds like you are having a great time!

Ok, I can see that now. Do you know if they celebrate it in the west, too?

Hmmm... since you talk about your どこでもドアso much, why don't you be doraemon? Or you could be Nobita-kun (that's not a put-down)!!!

How's everything in your neck of the woods?

Oh, I'm going to Chicago with Jess to take the JLPT at DePaul U. If you're not far from there and you want to get together, let me know!

I don't think I heard of Sweetest Day in California. I think maybe it's only Midwest (but, maybe changed in 12 years).

I wonder if I was Nobita, if someone would know I had a costume on or not :D

The odds of meeting are actually quite high I think, because, I also applied to sit that same test. If nothing crazy happens with the Amtrak, I should be there :)

It sounds like you are doing great! And I do have to say that "Sweetest day" is a pretty interesting holiday! haha. Almost like Japan and their crazy holidays like "respect for the aged day 敬老の日" and 体育の日 Health and sports day.
Although I can't complain because it gives me at least 1 long weekend a month.

I am taking the 2級 exam again this year, but haven't even cracked a book for about 2 months. I really need reading practice but just never feel like doing it when I get home. Ahh well. I am stil planning on quitting JET after a year, and even if I have to take a pay cut that is fine with me. Money isn't everything. I'm just not happy with where I'm working and what my job entails.

Good luck with all your teaching, school, and the studying for 1級 Im sure that since you almost passed it last year you can do it this year!

Yeah I love Japanese holidays!

Well, if the job isn't making you happy, then the money really isn't worth it, is it? I hope you find a good job that will keep you happy.

I didn't almost pass 1kyuu last year, but I have a better shot this year. I really haven't studied so I can only imagine how it's going to go. I'm not too worried about it, though. I have 2kyuu at least, and I can take 1kyuu again next year. When I am ready, I will pass.

Where are you taking your test? Good luck! I'm sure after spending time in Japan that you will be able to pass 2kyuu.

The holidays are approaching fast, aren't they?

:)
