Home for fall break. It's only four days and I'll have to take a bus back to school, but I haven't been home since the beginning of the year and it's nice. <3
Also, something amusing: a few days ago, me and the roomies were walking back to our room from the dining hall. We're in front of the student union and one of them says something teasing, I forget what, and I say, "Well, you know what? You're a bitch." ("Bitch" has become our favorite pet-name for each other. Silly, I know.) We're all amused, and so, I notice, is this guy walking by. He's clearly tickled by our blatant display of vulgarity.
So a few days later, yesterday, we were walking back from the caf again and this guy near the student union calls to someone on the steps, "I was just about to call you!" I look, and, lo and behold, it's the guy from the other day. And he says, "No, you weren't. You were gonna stand me up, you fucking slut."
They all laugh at each other, and we laugh quietly at them. I think I love how swearing and playful rudeness can be so... community-building.
...
Yeah, maybe you had to be there.
Anyway, we had to write radio plays for our last Creative Writing assignment before the break. I wrote one called "Undead Anonymous." We had to perform them in-class, and the guys were much better at acting them out than I thought they would be. It was hilarious.
