I don't think I will sleep unless I return my silver Egyptian ring to the third finger of my right hand, where I have worn it for at least fifteen years. I know how you feel about the ring.

I've worn that silver and blue ring on my left forefinger for fourteen years now and I freak if I go out and don't have it on.
It's come so that now my finger has a permanent pale mark where the ring sits as well as a fold in the skin.

It's strange how something so seemingly insignifcant can gain so much meaning over time simply because it's always there for you.

yeah, well, I guess going without my backpack does the same thing to me. I've had a backpack with me most times going out and about for a very long time. It just feels odd not having it. But since it is part of helping my shoulder get better, I have incentive to get used to it. But, for the moment I'm back to a smaller, less loaded backpack, and unlike previous times when I've reverted it feels less like a return to normality. So I must be weaning myself of the dependency... a bit. Of course, it just means I'll have to work on weaning myself of the satchel that has replaced the backpack 8-)

Its funny, I never really notice your back pack until I try and picture you without it... and find I can't!
