I broke my bed a couple years back because a friend and I were seeing who could pick each other up the highest while standing on it and *snap*.

I might sound really daft for saying this, but *HOW* does one break a bed? I have moved numerous times by throwing my mattress and boxspring down a few flights of stairs, off off my 3rd story balcony and never busted them up more than the material on the outside.

Are you sure you weren't playing trampoline? That was the coolest thing as a kid when your parents visited people who had something other than a dull foam mattress.
