what you aren't doing a very good job of understanding is that in the early 1900's, Australians were reticent to use the official flag. the official flag is, in fact, restricted to use by government sanctioned/military uses under federal law, which followed the British tradition of flag use. what is the official flag, you bray? have a squiz, for it
