home canning 2010 begins

Rhubarb -- Home canning season proceeds. Last week I put up some rhubarb jam that I had to add some apples to because I didn't buy enough rhubarb. I shorted the sugar a little to compensate, so we'll see if it sets. Ah. As I move to Vermont and reacquaint myself with canning, it's good to know that about the tall jars. I've never used ones that shape.

It is truly awesome! I'll try to use the pressure canner once or twice before the tomatoes come in, so that I don't blow up my kitchen in August-September.
