It's very late by the time you hear back from her. First message of the day arrives at 10:17pm when all of her other friends have gone to bed. Oh, these rationalizations when someone is behaving badly... they're so familiar. Part of the problem is feeling you should give someone the benefit of the doubt, because you don't know the truth and it's not fair to assume. But with some people, you reach the day when it's clear that all of those 'transgressions' and friendship-failures were exactly what they looked like. :(

this is a theme... knowing when to give up on a "friend" because they're just not behaving in a friendly way! And this serves to remind us that using the word "friend" can often be a misnomer.

Lot of wisdom here ... and somehow with wisdom comes a bi of sadness because then you let go of something.
