Good news, good news

OMG! OMG! OMG! ...

... Is what my eldest daughter exclaimed when I read the letter over the phone to her which said she'd got a place at the Royal Vetinary College!

She was like a 5 year-old, bless her.  She was on the Orkney isles sheep shearing at the time (as bizarre as that sounds) this, ironically, being one of several activities she'd planned ( Read more... )

Until number 4 decides to throw a wobbler! (Here's hoping not.)

Thank you Ghyste.

I'm sorry - there aren't any trite sayings relating to the number four so you'll just have to disown them!

Good for them, and good for you! And best of luck to younger daughter. :)

Sheep shearing, eh. I did that, once. For a day. I'd rather muck out the Augean Stables.

Thanks Julie.

Ahh, D no. 1's mucked out a good number of stables in her time too!

Think she was having a jolly good time partying inbetween shearing. She e-mailed to say, 'Who says island life's dull?'

Excellent news! Good luck to younger daughter - I bet people will drop out, they always do for one reason or another, and then she'll get her chance, fingers crossed!

Yay! That's great news. :) And I'm sure the mis-spelling of veterinary was just a typo. ;) :D

Pearlette mentioned the possibility of an August get together. Is there any news on that front? I'm still on holiday and using the public library. giving_ground tells me there's a great puppet show in town, something-Q, can't remember what, featuring a song called the Internet is for porn. :D

As if... where do they get these ideas? :D

The show is called Avenue Q, and one review had this to say about it: "It might look like Sesame Street, but with its sex and bad language, the musical Avenue Q would give Kermit a heart attack"

:D

I was also hoping to get to the Warren Cup exhibition at the British Museum, but it's finished. :(

Very good news indeed!

I had considered veternary college myself, but knowing the few vets I do, I wasn't sure if I wanted such a demanding, wholly consuming job. More power to her if she is up to the challenge!

Hi Ariel!

I certainly couldn't do the job. Apart from anything else, I'd be forever crying with each little tragedy - not very professional!

Funny really, that you ended up at the other end of the biology scale!

Oh, me too! I would be so much worse over animals than I would ever be over people! Maybe that is why I do trees instead. ;)
