Some nights I just can't stand it.

Happy Holidays.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of all time.

Two nights ago, I had a most frustrating discussion about psychology with someone I would consider a friend.  He's more a friend of Mike's, but for the intents and purposes of this discussion, he is my friend as well.  I will refer to him as J. from here on in.

( Cut for a slightly lengthier story than I like to clutter flists with. )

So, for Mike's birthday, I made a CHEESECAKE.  Shocking, IT CAME OUT.  Deliciously, even.  The crust could have been better, and the top cracked, but the filling was perfect and I decorated it to hide the cracking, so...voila!  Near-perfect cheesecake, to my surprise and joy.

( Mmm, cheesecake. )

Let's see if I still remember how to do this.  This is a...journal, right?  And I used to catalog the occasional important thing in my life here?  Huh.

So, I went to Scotland, way back at the beginning of the summer.  That was pretty fabulous.  I'm thinking about whether or not I can convince everyone I love to move there en masse with me...because ( Read more... )

Tomorrow at 7:14 I fly out to Scotland (with a couple days in London first) for my first and last ever study abroad.  I'll be away for a month.  I'm simultaneously excited and nervous, and sad to be leaving friends and Mike.
