1. What did you do this year that you'd never done before?
Taught elementary school kids how to read and do math.
Made out with a woman over thirty...
Was thanked for "serving our country."
Lived in Arizona.
Lived in Idaho.
Helped build 8(!) typee platforms.
"Graduated" from a govenrment community service "Corps."
Moved to SF into my first non-university appartment. My first TWO appartments, actually.
Visited Cayuga(sp) county, OH.
Applied to/accepted by/Started Law School
Cashed an "Education Award" check signed by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.
Seriously thought about becoming an ex-patriot (if only briefly).

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember. Yes. Cirgarettes are bad for you.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No

5. What countries did you visit?
None (Well, Courd'Alene, ID. But I don't think that counts.)

6. What would you like to have next year that you lacked last year?
A secure, rewarding, exciting, educational, empowering relationship.

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory?
Nov. 2nd. (duh)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Entering UC Hastings Law School.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not talking to my father (but the year aint done yet...)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My laptop was certainly the most expensive (other than my semester of school, of course)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My sister's engaged!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Our president.

14. Where did most of your money go?
School.
Drinking.
Books.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Making out with a certain lesbian. And then starting a relationship with said lesbian.
The possibility of making our president one for only a single term.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Happier. I have a partner. I'm still falling for her.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Political action/advocacy. Painting/Drawing. More AmeriCorps (I miss it).

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Causing pain in people I care about. Smoking. I lied a couple times.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With my family (biological and nonbiological)

21. How will you be spending New Years?
Either in LA or San Francisco. With friends. Significantly intoxicated, hugging everybody.

22. Did you fall in love this year?
More convinced, every day.

23. How many one night stands?
It depends on the definition. Maybe one. Maybe none.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
West Wing.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No

26. What was the best book you read?
Haruki Murukami, The Wild Sheep Chase.
Bob Woodward, Bush at War.
Joe Sacco, Palestine.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Sluts of Trust. (horrible name, good band).

28. What did you want and get?
Someone I want to invest in.

29. What did you want and not get?
Boalt Hall.
Things have worked out though, I'm not bitter.

30. What was your favorite movie of this year?
Hmmm...
I didn't see as many movies as I usually do. I honestly don't know. I liked the Incredibles a whole lot. Master and Commander? Alien Director's Cut. THX 1138 Director's Cut?

31. What did you do on your birthday?
I think I went to a lecture.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
One-Term President.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Rrright.

34. What kept you sane?
Frieds, goals, knowledge of entering a community that has the power to do a hell of a lot of good (and bad).

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Scarlet Johansen? The red haired girl on That 70's Show.
Though I heard Mini Driver sing on the radio this morning...I like her.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
War, unemployment, corruption, the neo-con conquest, the betrayel of my countrymen/women.

37. Who did you miss?
My friends from New York. New York.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I'm going to say Paul Marsters. Cuz i didn't really know him until this year. Oh, and that lesbian, cuz I didn't really know her either. I knew that girl from texas already.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year:
There's still beauty everywhere. And where possible, it's worth fighting for. People, large masses of people, large masses of people all over the country, can dissapoint you.
