christmas was nice. my brother came home. lots of thoughtfulness and familial feelings surfaced.

i feel like i dont have enough time to do what i want.

as 2004 draws to a close..

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? went to nc, saw the ocean, college

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
my resolution was to be myself, i dont know if that worked. it was kind of too vague..
i always make them, but they are never fulfilled, so whats the point?

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? some extended family members..

4. Did anyone close to you die? no

5. What countries did you visit? none

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? friends, happiness, and an i-pod

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
murphy, north carolina- it was the best time of my life
the day erin and i skipped school and went to bloomington

8.What was your biggest achievement of the year? road tripping, ending a huge mistake

9.What was your biggest failure? being friendless, not taking initiative

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? no

11. What was the best thing you bought? a stereo for my car

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? no ones

14. Where did most of your money go? wasted on erin and gas

WEEN, voting, arcade fire, indy irish festival, the fiery furnaces, bloomingtonfest, and murphy, nc

all ween songs, franz ferdinand- take me out, coldplay- the scientist, anything pixies, postal service- such great heights, rusted root, animal collective, arcade fire, deerhoof- giga dance, and every cd i burned from the library

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? sex, speaking up, love

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? oh so many: WEEN, arcade fire, interpol, deerhoof, fiery furnaces, rilo kiley, belle and sebastian, magnolia electric company, will oldham, etc.

28. What did you want and get? digital camera, more free time

29. What did you want and not get? meaningless sex

30. What was your favourite film of this year? eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? absolutely nothing, 19

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? someone to spoon with

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: trying is almost always better than not. when it comes to making friends, at least

im having a hard time remembering much of the beginning months. maybe because i threw them away on someone i shouldnt have.
but for the most part, it was an unforgettable year filled with many first experiences. i owe most of it to erin.
i just wish the end could have been as event-filled as the middle.

to summarize, the best of 2004 (in no order):
- erin,
- roadtrips (4),
- incredible music & movies, partly resulting from
[-] the library scam,
- coming closer to self-discovery, and
- finding outlets for creativity
