The cat is staring at the wall
OKAY so pretty much, I decided that my "original" intro post is kind of TEEL DEER so that's been redated. Here's a quick rundown of what kind of me I am, these days, instead!
Hi! I'm Laine. I live in Toronto with amberthetired and Rob, her good friend and my oft-time pillow. I'm a college graduate and I love libraries with all of my heart. I work in one, and hope to work in libraries for the rest of my life. I JUST LIKE BEING SURROUNDED BY BOOKS, OK. Anyway, so when I talk about work stuff, this is what I'm talking about. Books. Annoying library patrons who won't go home after close. Things like that.
I have a shaky relationship with my dad, but a pretty damn decent one with my mom and brother. Seriously though, who DOESN'T have daddy issues?
I'm gonna take a page out of Gerard Way's book and say I went to art school! LULZ, yes, I used to be a huge fucking hipster. But I now know practically nothing about contemporary art, aside from where those books are located in my library. :p I miss the creating part of those years of my life, which is why you'll sometimes see bits and pieces of half-assed drawings here and there from me. Sometimes I think about taking a life drawing class or something, but I never go through with it, the lazy bum that I am.
UM UM UM I'm allergic to cats! I know, it's a terrible allergy to have, but there it is. I also happen to live with a cat, a very very fluffy cat, who likes to push his anus in your face whenever possible. He's pictured below!
I like crafts, like knitting and making little owlies, but my attention span is shorter than that of a toddler's, so I often forget these hobbies, then return to them weeks later. I think it's just that I like busying my hands with something while I watch tv.
Currently, I don't really have a fandom, though Inception (BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRM) is definitely making a huge play for my heart. I go through periods where I feel detached from fandom, and I'm going through one now (12/27/10). I was really heavy into Jonas Brothers and Disney RPF fandom though, only a few months ago, and I'm the happiest when I'm throwing myself into a fandom, letting it take over pretty much every aspect of my life. I miss the days when I was a huge Supernatural fangirl most.
These are some of the shows I watch nowadays: How I Met Your Mother, Castle, Criminal Minds, Being Erica, Community, Big Bang Theory, Mentalist.
I run a tiny little writing community called pasleseul. I generally don't write fic, because I'm not a very good writer and don't want to inflict people with bad fic, but I enjoy the act of writing anyway, and that's kind of the point of the comm.
If you want to know anything else about me, a safe bet is always amberthetired or kilynn16, though I swear, I won't bite if you decide to throw those questions my way. I'm easy. ;)
