As Charlie's BFF, I'm expected to go to as many shows as possible. Sadly, at the last one, my camera's ability to make video died. It did, however, get audio! And she keeps out doing herself. Someone, please, please convince her to sign with hathor_rising's label.

If she needs convincing to go with a label, Skid is a better option because, you know, less indentured servitude. ;)

You work twice as hard as an artist that has signed with Skid, and if you know anyone signed with any label, you know how hard they all work. We aren't just artists, we're scouts, we're tour managers, we're elbow deep in our distribution, in our message, all of it. But we have more rights within the whole process than a lot of musicians do. For example, if Skid came to me with this whole MTV thing that's going on right now, and I wanted to veto them showing up, I'd have that final power, not the label.

Skid's downsides are that they don't tend to sign a lot of women, though that's been changing the last few years, and that a lot of young and inexperienced artists end up with them and then don't know how to handle the business side of the business. But if you listen to your mentors (everyone there has one) and put in the work, it's worth it.

This MTV thing is a big reason why she should run far, far away from them.

Why doesn't she want to sign?

It is. I don't know that she'll be able to go back to "ordinary" though.
