Voice Post - 2 Poems

Oct 17, 2006 18:46

Ok, so now I have a new addiction: making voice posts. I only read 2 poems. I haven't really got anything interesting to say right now so that seemed like an attractive option. OMG but I loved doing that. Oh dear... I feel a lot of poems will be recorded like this in the coming weeks/months/whatever. I may do an update voice post the next time ( Read more... )

Kick ass! I LOVE voice posts! Especially when it's someone from a different region and I get to hear them speak in their own voice rather than my Connecticut-interpretation of their voice! I loved it! I feel like such a dolt for never thinking to read my poetry (or poetry of others) on a voice post. I must say, you sounded much softer than I'd expected - I think I always read your posts with the notion that you'd be louder - you're so smart and strong in your opinions and thoughts, I'd automatically expected you to have a forceful (in a good way!!) voice. Anyway, enough jabbering from me - I loved it! More! More! :)

heehee! I *loved* doing that - and I love hearing other voice posts too. Read some of your poetry!! I'd love to hear that.

I probably would have sounded more forceful except that I've got a sore throat from smoking too much and also, since I went downhill mentally again, my voice has changed. It's frustrating, sometimes I stutter or stammer when I'm talking and I never know when it's going to happen. So I read things carefully at the moment to try and stop that from happening.

Thank you for the smart and strong comment! I don't feel very smart or strong but it was really nice to read it. :)

We should make a community where we all read our poetry and post them through voice posts. That would be so fucking great! I'm really into reading poetry now (thanks to last night's general success) and it was also terrific to hear you read. I agree w/ just_breathe149, your voice was quieter, softer, smoother than I imagined, and (as a stupid American I have to say this) I loved your accent. I think Sylvia's work sounds so much prettier read in that accent. Anyway, this was awesome!

lol...she did. I couldn't reply to her comment so I posted it instead - I think it'd be a great idea. We should all do it! I think it'd be nice to read poems by other people too. I love the idea of having a community for that - except it would have to be a paid one to allow voice posts.... hmmmm...

You sound a little more posherer than I expeced, especially when reading. In fact it reminds me a little of Daisy Goodwin, which is good as she's an intellgent cutie who loves poetry too :)

posherer - haha. I used to sound a lot more posh - I'm from Scotland originally and I had a really broad Scottish accent but we moved to the East End of London when I was just 6 and everyone took the piss out of my accent so much that I tried to lose it really quickly and somehow it turned into a posh accent instead of an East End one.

I'm flattered by the Daisy Goodwin thing, thank you!
