less germs more headaches

I actually have more time now that I am back in school than these past few weeks of summer. Working at the Art Camp provided a series of child-related horror stories though, including the highlights; getting punched in the spine by a 7 year-old, having to hold hands with a compulsive nose-picker, telling a 9 year-old to drop the "yucky" little ( Read more... )

If you really like school, stay there for as long as possible. But, you'll probably need a bit of time to adjust to the "real world" and find a full-time job, so I would take that into consideration.

That's very true... I think part of me is wanting to postpone it for that very reason, it will be very anticlimactic to graduate and not see the diploma amount to a hell of a lot. Not to mention that I have no idea what I want to do afterwards!

hmm. Now that I am an adult and have to pay rent and loans and stuff, I look back on school as the good ol' glory days and wish I could go back to being a full-time student. However, you are already an adult dealing with these things, so I think I would maybe just want to graduate already if it were me.

On the other hand, would it be possible for you to go to school part-time and work part-time (compromise between the two)?

I know what you mean, I look back on community college that way - when I *could* use my paycheck to both support myself and do school. Now it's the debt game. I have to have 12 units to still get the money, so my best bet would be trying to cram them all in on 2 full days or something - which could work... Your online classes are another way around the system!

hey, they're giving you money, you SHOULD do what you want!!

there's plenty of time to be sensible in the rest of your life. :)

perhaps you can work out some kind of part time work situation where you can work and take a couple fun classes, too. not a full load, just a couple classes spring semester that you want to take. it will give you a little time to transition from college into the real work world, and the fun classes will give you some new perspectives on what you want to do in your life.

if i had an opportunity like this, i would definitely take the classes.

I'm leaning that way... Like many people have said in the department, a degree doesn't mean you have learned everything the department has to offer, and I feel like I missed a lot! I have to take 12 units to keep the money though, so it will be a full load. Maybe if I take all art classes though it won't feel like "work" and might be like a transition, like you said. Or even some PE classes!

Stay in school forever! Forever I tell you! Real life working, paying bills, etc., sucks the big one, besides all of its suckiness will still be after the extra semester. You will not loose out or miss much in the working world by finishing in the fall.

Ha! I guess that's true, I don't need to rush to NOT find a job! I picked a major that may actually make it *harder* to find one, anyway. One semester IS only 6 months...

I would totally stay, my dream is to now go back to school because working sucks so much ass!

This is the chance of a lifetime. You may never get the opportunity to do this again -- hopefully there will be somebody who will pay you to do exactly what you want to do, but it doesn't always work out that way. Grab this opportunity and run with it!

Thanks, I think I'm leaning that way. I'll tell you what my advisor said next time we talk. It's true that once I'm done here I probably won't ever come back, so if I don't feel ready to leave maybe I shouldn't! ;)
