spare the brush and spoil the child

Apparently I don't know how to blow dry hair. For some reason (probably because it's freezing today) I decided to blow dry my hair this morning and ended up looking like a hay stack in the middle of an electrical storm...so I stuck my head under the faucet for a while to try to get it back to normal. Then I saw the clock and had to go to class. ( Read more... )

I had a good ten years with my old/first car. What eventually sold me on the idea of leasing a new car (despite not having a job and despite a lot of sound financial advice) were a handful of glorious moments toward The End where in order to get my car to not stop suddenly in front of on-coming traffic (it made a warning sound, thankfully) I would have to throw it into neutral and hit the gas as hard as I could. Fun fun. I think I'd rather worry about coming up with $220 for car payments than dying in a preventable accident, thank you very much.

I also have no idea what to do with my hair. My mom has the same kind of hair (wavy with the occasional Medusa day) but she never figured it out either. I go with pig tails, a braid or a bun when it's out of control or if I feel like "styling" it.

Yeah, I keep thinking how it might make a lot more sense to lease a car. But for now I pretty much stole my mom's.......eek.

Medusa hair sounds *great*! I should do the bun thing, I've never really tried that.

you need to buy product to put in your hair before and after blow drying that will keep it from standing up/frizzing. it's not innate girl knowlege, but be careful--once you get into that shit you become a product whore like me.

What do you put in it? I pretty much never blow-dry it, but it might come in handy. I still have some random bottles of hair stuff from high school that I only used a few times (which I should toss, they're probably not even liquid anymore) - generally I don't put much in my hair, but it's fun to experiment.

What are your products of choice?
