Cosplay update!

Tomo-Dachi resulted in the debut of several handmade costumes by me! YAY!

That's the Yuna costume I made for apocalypskorch. I used gold oriental brocade for the obi belt, dark blue linen and fabric paint for the skirt and plain white cotton for the top and sleeves. Simplicity patterns for obi and skirt, but the top and sleeves were made up. :) I dip dyed the sleeves using Dylon "Carnival" fabric dye.

Now, here's Alex (not on LJ) wearing a smashing pair of shorts I made for her Rikku outfit.

Again, Simplicity pattern and thick green cotton. She kept hiking up the right leg, so if it looks lopsided that's why.

And finally, lovepunch as Paine from FFX-2!

Simplicity pattern for the skirt and black PVC for the fabric. We made a skirt because that PVC stuck together like a bitch, and as amusing as the thought of lovepunch walking like John Wayne with glued legs is, I thought it would be kinder to let her walk like a proper christian. :)

The top was just an invented pattern, made in quite a hurry and needs some work, but that can be fixed!

AS for my costume... I was Lulu. :)

I also dressed as a gothic Vampire Princess Miyu, but nobody got it and just thought I was a geisha.

More photos coming soon!

People have said I should sell my cosplay outfits on the internet, as they are better than most they have seen out there.

I have a problem with this idea, as I have not been formally trained in sewing, dress making or tailoring, so I would not want to charge people for a service I am not trained to provide. At some stage in the future, however, I will. :)

I will be sending my application to the Grafton Academy later this week. Wish me luck!
