Well, didn't get a part in Les Mis. I gave a stellar audition. The director nodded and grinned all the way through and asked me to stay and sing a second song. I was probably on a short list, but the last of four callback spots went to an overqualified operatically trained friend of Scarlet's who *had* assured  us that she was not auditioning for ( Read more... )

Acting is a cutthroat occupation. Even when it's a hobby in a teeny tiny yuppie town. Bleh. For that reason alone you couldn't pay me to audition for anything.

Speaking of projects, are you ever going to finish Red & Gray? Probably not the best time to ask, since finishing something is sad in its own weird little way.

Oh I definitely will finish it. I'll probably be calling on you guys for chapter ideas since Cutler and James will be leaving for The Brethren Court soon

I'm sorry you didn't get the part, but kudos to you for trying. I mean, you gotta play to win.

Oh, I'm so sorry. *hugs* That really sucks. But look at the bright side, you'll have much more time to write beautiful fanfiction... I know, I know, what a disgustingly selfish comment. :-P But I mean it, you know we all love you here and adore your work. We know you're absolutely talented and made of awesome. So don't despair, you'll have your second chance. :) *hugs*

I'm sorry, mate. I do understand how it feels (having been a dancer for years).
Confidence to do this in the first place will get you far, and if you did a great audition and you know it, then you know you can do it again.

**hugs**

I had a friend in high school who did Shakesperian acting, which basically to my mind meant she made herself cry and be method all the time and then she wouldn't get the part. I don't know how you guys do it all the time.

How I do it? Hm...I crap myself at first, that usually lasts for about a week. Then I get down to it, learn the moves and dance as if nobody else is in the room. I become selectively blind, if you like, pretend I'm alone and never look at the audience!

Don't let this bad experience let you down. You were not chosen, right, but not because you are not talented, but because theatre politics sucks. Don't give up- I know your time will come! *huggles*
