I absolutely love reading what you have to say about literature. You have such a mature view on it, I value that a lot. :) And honestly, you should try Jeanette Winterson's books. I think she's brilliant at combining the poetic style with the prose form. If you like books that take you out of the present, then you should definitely read "The Passion" (my first ever JW book that made me fall in love with her work), definitely "Sexing the Cherry" (one of my favourites, I wrote an essay on it this year) and maybe "Weight" (a rewriting of the myth of Atlas, I like it a lot, too).
