The biggest difference is the cinematography, which quite honestly would render anything watchable - I was in utter despair over the quality of the pilot caps v. that of the aired episode.
It's that annoying "moved or deleted" message *d'oh* Which begs the question...is it still showing up for you and everyone else? I which case, why does PB hate me then :{
I absolutely love the series, from what I have seen of the "pilot", I would definitely not have loved it as much. The changes are most definitely for the better :O
I figured it out! I tried to delete an image earlier and assumed it hadn't work, but I guess I must've just deleted the wrong image - it was only showing up for me because the image was still stored in my temporary internet memory thing.
It's very interesting watching the pilot from a... film studies perspective, I suppose, but as telly it's pretty painful. I'm not even mentioning the rather larger problems the pilot had.
Loved this spam! (Apart from the missing pic as mentioned above.)
I've not watched the pilot yet (although i definitely will be doing so soon!) but the changes ALL seem for the better. If the final episodes looked anything like the pilot i'd not have bothered shelling out for the series on Blu-Ray. It's breathtaking.
Agree to this. Although, my wording isn't "awesome" so much as he looks more *hot* in jeans. Then, I'm a sucker for a guy with a nice jeans butt. The underwear thing freaks me out though. I've never thought I'd wanted to see Sherlock Holmes' underwear, and now that I have, I know I never did. xD
Here's the thing I noticed that they kept from pilot to first episode. The little table that is in between the two chairs in the pilot gets moved to be John's side table in the first episode. I only noticed the table because I have one almost exactly like it. We should do a "what got kept" list as well. I mean, what would the flat be without a steers head with headphones?
Thanks! I tried to keep to the really small and delightful touches that remind you of the wonders of editing - otherwise I could have gone on for quite some time. I'm on the cusp of including Jeff unarmed/Jeff armed, but that may be too major. Changing the location of the showdown was also good - having the twin buildings - actually giving Jeff a more substantial motivation - Anderson's beard -

But as for the rest, I'm certainly glad of the changes they made :O

All the images here are photoshopped - the pilot actually looks even more low-rent than this.
