Oh, Laura. I think a point was proven indirectly there...

I aggree with you... it's one of the reasons I keep a paper journal and write long letters to people sometimes even if they're a phone call or classroom away.
We're losing so much of what old generations created.
However, the internet is just another means of expression and cannot be compleatly devalidated. Times change, and society changes with them.
There was a time when books were taking from the appreication from other things.
Times cange.

And, to think, back in the day, shakespere was concidered garbage by society! I still think it's highly overrated, but there still a lot more value to it than society believed when it was the "new thing". haha, imagine one day, the simpsons being regaurded as highly as shakespere is today by historians and english students!

Sorry for the double-comment, Laura, but I read your entry again and something in the first sentence caught my eye:

Are you implying that one opens a book to turn off their mind? Or, that the motion of turning on a television involves turning off your mind?
