I'm not sure! I just hate the fact that I can only speak English, because I love the idea of knowing languages. I tried to take Japanese a few years ago and it was going well until I went on vacation and missed two or three classes, so I might try that again. Or I might ignore the "new" part of that resolution and try French again, since it really would be much more practical than Japanese! Or both, depending on how ambitious I am. :)
Cool! A good free service (at least, it was free the last time I checked) for French and possibly Japanese is LiveMocha. Just Google it and you'll see what I mean. Basically it has you learning languages like babies learn language, which is by looking at pictures and trying to identify them.
You could also try this. For non-free options, the City of Ottawa offers a few languages, and so does Algonquin. And I believe Rosetta Stone offers its language courses online for a small monthly fee.
