pee ess: I want to go to England toooooo! Where do you plan on working slash what is your game plan to prepare for said move? Because I want to move to London at some point and need a few pointers as to how prepare to go from having loads of money in Canadian Dollars to none in British Pounds! Slash how to get a job without having to move there first.
P.S. Where I plan on working is still up in the air (I've been looking at job opportunities but this is, of course, premature as any job available now won't be available when I go there in a year), but my game plan basically consists of saving up enough money (in order to get a working visa for the UK, one needs to have at least £1600 to one's name), figuring out what to do with all my stuff while I'm gone (storage locker? distributing it between friends? jamming it into my parents' already overfull basement?), and... just getting out there. Once I've got my visa, of course. Then I plan to stay in a hostel until I can find a flatmate/flat (this is the part that concerns me), and find a job while I'm there. This is where the £1600 comes in handy, as it should cover me quite well until I have other funds available, and hostels are very reasonably priced.
