No, I haven't moved back to Earth (sigh). Tennessee is just a rock that I've been analyzing for the last few sols. Endurance is kinda fun, now that I'm sure that I'm not going to go wheels over solar panels every time I make a move! It's harder to send out UHF communications because of my new location, but on the plus side I acquire solar energy a ( Read more... )

What is the tan of six circles and a fish-scale-shaped flat plate? That's a toughie, but I bet it'd compute to a great view!

-4.52352 * 10^-14, roughly. But I suspect she's not talking about geometry...
;-) Never thought of her pannels as "fish-scale-shaped". I always kind-of thought of it as "Diamond in the rough." (you can get far with that kind of imagery, used properly...)

Congrats on your progress. We're all so proud of you! The latest data is looking -really- good.

Did Spirit tell you she's found a bunch of blueberries? If you hear from her, ask her to write home sometime.

We are concerned about her wheel, but she's still cruising along pretty well, and sending back cool pictures. She's about to start mountain driving. :-)

I guess it's time for a new stanza..
She'll be driving in the crater there on Mars
She'll be driving in the crater there on Mars
She'll be driving in the crater, ain't no rover greater,
she'll be driving in the crater there on Mars...

I know, embarassing when parents sing, but hey... at least we're not showing more baby pictures to certain space probes. ;-)

OMG YOU TOTALLY DIDN'T SHOW THEM TO HIM DID YOU?!!! I wasn't even fully assembled in some of them!

But he's still talking to me, so I guess it's okay.

I kinda like when you sing to me.

You're so cute when you blush! I didn't know we'd added that to the telem encoder. :-)
(quietly humming..)
she'll be doing way-cool science there on Mars...

Sounds like your favorite space probe is starting to receive a little attention in the news:

"I AM THE GREATEST!"

Well, no. That's not true at all; I just like the line.
