I was, um, on a LFC high after the Carling Cup final and did a little searching on Martin Skrtel. Low and behold I found the community
skrtel_vvv and on there they had an old you tube video of Martin speaking in it.
I used to study Russian and need a little practice but I asked if they would like me to translate it (or try). They did, so I did. and well, here's the link to their post
http://skrtel-vvv.livejournal.com/51182.html(I hope this is ok) and then here's the link to the video and my translation:

I: Do you like to put together puzzles?
M: no, I don’t
I: You don’t like it?
M: No. (He mumbles and I can’t understand him.)
I: What?
M: I don’t like them (I don’t know the exact wording but that’s the meaning.)
I: You’ve never finished a puzzle?
M: No
I: Ok, we’ll put this one together.
Voice Over: In life, everything begins with childhood.
I: Did you have many toys in your childhood?
M: ( Don’t really understand him but I think he says it was simpler) I lived in a small village and they say that in the summer everybody loved to play football and in the winter, hockey.
I: What have you learned in life from your father and what have you learned from your mother?
M: Papa, Papa taught me how to play football. And Mama taught me… Mama wanted me to be in school.
I: It doesn’t go there, look. (talking about the puzzle)
Papa gave you lessons for a bigger life, yes?
M: Uh-huh
M: Papa worked as a policeman and already thought about ‘rest’. (He said something right before that but I couldn’t make it out.)
I: Retiring?
M: Yes. And Mama worked as a teacher. (He uses the wrong word for teacher and the interviewer corrects him. He mentions his brother and sister here. I think he says his sister is 24 years old and I think he says his brother is 21 but I’m really not sure what he says exactly about them.)
Voice Over: (Again I don’t know exact. I think she goes Martin studied as a young goal keeper.)
Sorry I really don’t get what Martin is talking about other than that (I think) if he were a goal keeper he wouldn’t be a professional but then goes on to say something about being a fast and smart player.
I: Height 1M 21, career 3 years (she mentions something about Slovakia, possibly his career there)
I: You’ve been playing here three years, what do you remember?
M: I remember the first match where I played (he slurs like a drunk Russian here, sorry all I got was ssssssssss) and this is what I remember.
I: How do you remember?
M: It was my first match with Zenit where Someone/something played, but then we played against CSKA it was my first goal for Zenit.
Voice Over: Martin remembers his worst match.
M: It was against Rubio Kazhan when he did the penalty in the first half and that was the worst.
I: You need to not remember this and move on. After a match you need to forget it and move on and think about the next one. How do you do this?
M: I usually sleep bad and think of all the plays, what I did, how I did what I could have done better or different.
I: And what would you do if you weren’t playing football?
M: I would be in the Army. I wanted to do this since I was a kid.
I: Let’s see where you will play next. Close your eyes. (She tells him to close his eyes and put his finger on the puzzle and she’d spin it, when it stops that’s where he’ll play next.)
I: one, two, three
(I can’t understand what they’re saying about it once he picks the flag.)
Voice Over: But England may come in the future, but now his contract with Zenit is until the end of 2008.
Martin starts talking but I really don’t know what he says. I think he’s talking about his contract with Zenit and that he’ll talk to his mom and dad and friends when the time comes for him to renew.
If you're a fan of Martin, you should go check out their community. I've poked around a little and like what I saw so far.
