Anatomy

Anatomy started on Monday! It's very exciting. The only yucky part is the formaldehyde smell - I really don't enjoy that part.

I got to dissect a human spinal cord yesterday! I can't even explain how cool it is. In order to get to it, we used a saw to remove the spine. It was sooooo cool!

so I didn't realize, but are you at Loyola now? If so, do you know a girl in your class with the last name Hafner? If so, I just spent a month with her dad out here in Fulton, NY for my family medicine rotation (he was the family medicine doc I was assigned to for a month, and I got to meet his wife and one of their dogs too). I hope med school is going well for you, and I'm glad it sounds like you're having fun. That's the most important thing in my opinion. Congratulations on the recent wedding too, since I haven't said anything to you in forever. Feel free to get in touch with me anytime you want if you need advice or just to say hi. masonm at upstate dot edu. best of luck!

I feel so stupid too - I was in Manhattan last week! I have no idea how far/near you are to the city. I meant to look you up, but ended up forgetting...

I don't know any Hafner, but I haven't been here that long. Do you know her first name by any chance?

well, I'm like 4 hours drive from the city, so that would have been a large detour. The girl's first name might be something like Julie or something else starting with a J, but it could equally be like Sarah or Rachel or whatever.

so I realized today that I was confusing Loyola and Loma Linda. I kind of doubt you'll meet Dr. Hafner's daughter, unless her dad was confused too.
